We built FbVideoDownloader to do one job well: turn a public Facebook video link into a real file you can keep — and to be honest about what is and isn’t possible.

What we do
Facebook lets you watch a video but not keep it. The “Save” option only bookmarks the video inside Facebook, and the bookmark stops working when the owner deletes it. FbVideoDownloader gives you the actual file: an MP4 with sound, a higher-resolution video track, the audio on its own, the thumbnail or the captions.
How it works
When you paste a link, our server opens the public video page the same way a logged-out browser would, reads the list of files Facebook’s own player uses, and shows you every option with its real resolution, codec and size. When you click Download, the file streams from Facebook’s servers through ours straight to your device.
- No login. We never ask for your Facebook email, phone number or password, and we never use a Facebook account to fetch videos.
- Nothing to install. It runs in any modern browser on iPhone, Android, tablets and computers.
- No stored videos. Files pass through; we don’t keep copies. See the Privacy Policy for details.
What we won’t claim
Many download sites promise 4K for every video, “private video” downloads or 320 kbps MP3s. We don’t, because those claims aren’t true: a video can’t be downloaded in a higher quality than it was uploaded in, private videos are protected by Facebook’s privacy settings, and Facebook’s audio is AAC at a much lower bitrate. We show exactly what Facebook provides and label which files have sound.
Respecting creators
Videos belong to the people who post them. Please download your own videos or ones you have permission to use, and never reupload someone else’s work as your own. Rights holders can reach us through our DMCA & Copyright page.
